Congratulations to our dear friend, Major Sumner, who has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia as part of the 2014 Australia  Day Honours for his significant service to the Indigenous community.

Major wants to live to see an Australia in which all non-Aboriginal people experience what indigenous culture is about.

“Aboriginal people live every day in what it is like to be part of white culture, but how many Australians can say they have experienced Aboriginal culture,” the Ngarrindjeri elder said. Continue reading

Australia Day and Waitangi Day Celebrations

Welcome to our first event for 2014! Join us on SATURDAY FEBRUARY 1, starting around 5:00 pm, for a wonderful celebration of our national days at the Scandinavian Cultural Centre, 764 Erin. Not only will there be a POTLUCK dinner, a trivia quiz, and an opportunity to catch up with all the news since our Christmas party, but there will be lots and lots of PAVLOVAS as part of our Annual phentermine med Bake-off. So, bring your best pavlova and compete for 1st Prize, Grand Champion, and Best in Show.
