Get your soccer fix!

world cup trophyThe FIFA Women’s World Cup is coming to Winnipeg and there are several opportunities to see Australia and New Zealand in action.

Unfortunately, Canada isn’t playing here, but we can cheer on our other home countries.

Games will be played at the Winnipeg Stadium, and you can see Australia and New Zealand on the following dates:

June 8 — Australia vs. United States at 6:30 pm
June 12 — Australia vs. Nigeria at 4:00 pm
June 15 — New Zealand vs. China at 6:30 pm

There are other countries also playing on those dates, as well as on June 16, so check out the schedule and get your soccer fix today.

Tickets are already on sale and range from $30 to $80, and there are “ME + 3” deals that bring the price down even more.

NZ vamp movie comes to Polo Park

movie 2SilverCity Polo Park is screening the brilliantly funny NZ movie “What We Do In The Shadows“. It’s running from today until at least next Thursday March 5 (check the theatre’s website for further dates)‎.

The 1hr 26min comedy horror follows the lives of Viago (Taika Waititi), Deacon (Jonathan Brugh), and Vladislav (Jemaine Clement), three flatmates who are just trying to get by and overcome life’s obstacles – being immortal vampires who must feast on human blood. Hundreds of years old, the vampires are finding that beyond sunlight catastrophes, hitting the main artery, and not being able to get a sense of their wardrobe without a reflection, modern society has them struggling with the mundane – paying rent, keeping up with the chore wheel, trying to get into nightclubs, and overcoming flatmate conflicts.
